Methodology
Price targets are the average of published analyst targets for each company, sourced from our market data provider and compared against the most recent close (2026-07-24).
Our provider offers targets for 1,189 Canadian listings, but coverage of micro-cap and sub-dollar names is unreliable — it includes stale targets on companies that have since consolidated or restructured, targets attached to the wrong share class, and figures implying implausible moves. Rather than republish that, we restrict this page to companies trading above $1 with a market cap above $100M, and drop any target implying a move beyond +200% or −60%. That leaves 604 companies we are comfortable publishing.
Analyst targets are opinions, not forecasts of fact, and they are revised frequently. This page is for information only and is not investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
Frequently asked questions
What is an analyst price target?
A price target is where an analyst covering a company expects its share price to trade over roughly the next 12 months. The figures here are the average of all targets published for that company, compared against its most recent close.
Does a large implied upside mean a stock is a good buy?
No. A wide gap between price and target often means analysts have not yet revised their numbers after a sharp move, or that the market disagrees with them. Targets are one input among many, and analysts are frequently wrong.
Why are some Canadian stocks missing?
We only publish companies trading above $1 with a market cap over $100M, and we drop targets implying a move beyond +200% or −60%. Analyst target data for micro-cap and sub-dollar Canadian listings is unreliable, and extreme readings are almost always a stale figure left over from a share consolidation or a wrong share class rather than a real analyst call. We exclude those rather than present numbers we do not trust.
How often is this updated?
Price targets refresh as our data provider updates them, and the last close refreshes daily on trading days.
